Friend of the Family Award

History

Lethbridge Family Services presented its first “Friend of the Family “award on September 8, 1988.This award honored and celebrated those individuals, groups, and organizations in southern Alberta who have meaningfully contributed to the strengthening of family life and the promotion of its values in society. In the beginning, the award was presented monthly (September-May) to the most outstanding nominee based on:

From 1992-1995, the “Friend of the Family” award given out every quarter. Another change occurred in 1996; the awards were presented annually to one nominee from each of the following two categories:

Working with Our Community
