Out-of-School Programs
Youth Mentorship Program
Our free Newcomer Youth Mentorship Program is open to newcomer youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who would benefit from peer connections and group activities. We connect them with other organizations, programs, schools, and employers in the Lethbridge area that can support their future. Participants are empowered to explore career paths, job opportunities, education options, and life goals.
The group also engages in sports, art activities, workshops, community events, volunteering opportunities, group outings, and more! We provide opportunities for youth who are new to Lethbridge to connect with friends, learn new skills, and have fun! There is no cost to participate.
Girls Group
Our free Girls Group program aims to help prepare girls, aged 10–18 years old, to be active members of their communities by:
Connecting with their peers
Building communication skills
Expressing themselves through the arts and creativity
Engaging in a variety of fun and educational field trips
Receiving assistance with basic needs and supplies
In spaces where they feel safe, nurtured, and mentored, our free program for girls runs every Friday afternoon. There is no cost to participate. This group welcomes any girls seeking connection and friendship—newcomer, settler, and Indigenous girls alike. We love cross-cultural connections!
Friendship Groups
Social and emotional groups (often within schools) that support friendships between newcomer children and their peers.
Community Connection
Referrals to community partners and collaborating service providers.
Employment Referrals
We help youth gain Canadian work experience by connecting young job seekers with community organizations that specialize in employment support to youth.
