Settlement and Community Supports Program

Navigating life in Canada can be challenging. We are here to offer a helping hand to Temporary Residents who are facing difficulties, have questions, or want to learn more about life in southern Alberta.

The Settlement and Community Supports Program supports eligible temporary residents with the following:

  • Navigating Canadian immigration processes

  • Meeting settlement needs

  • Connecting to the community

  • Accessing labour market information and supports

We can help with:

  • One-on-one information sessions

  • Referrals to appropriate organizations and agencies

  • Understanding immigration status

  • Information on pathways to Permanent Residency (both provincial and federal)

  • General information about living in Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta 

Who is eligible?

Services are available to:

  • Temporary Foreign Workers with valid work permits

  • Post-graduation Work Permit (PGWP) holders

  • Refugee Claimants in the process of making a refugee claim

  • Naturalized Canadian Citizens

  • Ukrainians who entered Canada under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) program
