You Can Now Donate to Lethbridge Family Services with SkipTheDepot
Lethbridge Family Services is proud to introduce a new way to donate to our front-line social programs. We have partnered with SkipTheDepot and now anyone can support us by donating bottles through their App.
Hauling bottles to the bottle depot can be messy and time-consuming. SkipTheDepot is an Alberta-based platform that lets you ditch the dirty work by handling the pickup, recycling, and processing the return. It’s an easy 3-step process:
1. Download & Sign Up
The free SkipTheDepot App can be downloaded on iPhone or Android, or used in-browser on a computer. Sign up and schedule a pickup.
2. Book a Pickup
The morning of your pickup day, put your bags outside. Use the directions area in the app to let the driver know where to find them.
3. Cash-out or Donate
They send you a breakdown of everything counted, followed by your deposit within 48 hours. Users can then cash out or donate to a local charity. If donating to a charity, 100% of the proceeds go to that charity.
Funds raised through bottle returns will go directly to the LFS general fund and distributed to the programs where they are needed most. Those who donate at least $20 to LFS in total bottle refunds in a calendar year will receive a tax receipt for the full amount.
Albertans have helped raise over $500,000 for charitable ventures through SkipTheDepot. They work with every type of organization, from registered charities, local sports teams, sports leagues, church groups, community groups, and not-for-profits. SkipTheDepot is the only digital bottle pickup app currently available in Lethbridge, and is always expanding into new communities and cities.
This new partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to make it as easy as possible to donate to local social programs for seniors, youth, families, people with disabilities, people needing mental health support, newcomers, immigrants, and refugees in the Lethbridge area. Those interested in donating bottles to LFS can use the following referral link: https://app.skipthedepot.com/lethbridge-family-services. When this link is used, and a bottle pickup is booked, the funds will automatically be set to be donated to Lethbridge Family Services.
