How can we help?

Growing Knowledge One Shovel at a Time

April 21, 2015

This project has been embraced by the staff of Stantec who has helped design and create an amazing outdoor concept with the garden.  There is a lot more to do with landscaping, planting, and building in this area and the help of the community is needed. That is why people are being invited to this open house and sod turning. The goal is to have all of the building and landscaping done for planting to occur after May 31st so the clients of LFS can plant some food and let their knowledge grow. In order to make this happen, volunteers are needed for the days of May 23 & 24, 30 & 31st to get the space ready for the gardening.  If you wish to help, please contact Melody Garner  at (403) 327-5724 or via email at mgarner@lfsfamily.ca.

“LFS is extremely excited to have such community minded partners like DuPont-Pioneer and Stantec involved in this project. It is an exciting initiative as we are seeing a level of engagement that shows the community cares about the work LFS does and that our clients are important to the community. ” Says Melody Garner, Director Advancement and Community Relations.

“Stantec is proud to design the Garden for Growth with our partners, Lethbridge Family Services,” said Kathryn Kitt, Landscape Architect at Stantec.  “It’s an incredible opportunity to work with the staff, program administrators and users to ensure the design reflects their needs. From developing new skills to nurturing personal growth to supporting a connection to nature, the garden will serve the diversity in the community and Lethbridge Family Services. We are truly grateful to be part of this project.”
