Mission: collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys in Christmas gift bundles to children and youth in Lethbridge and area whose families need help at Christmas.

Q. How are families eligible for Angel Tree?
We define families in need as follows:

Economic barriers

Recent change in income (i.e. loss of job)

Those families who will find Christmas too challenging this year and need assistance
Q. How do schools refer families to Angel Tree?
Schools have two options:

Notify their families that they can register on our website.

Our website is secure and mobile-friendly

Schools will help families unable to register themselves

Families who live in Lethbridge will have their gift bundles delivered to them by one of our volunteers.

Families that live outside of Lethbridge will pick up at our Angel Tree Toy Depot.

Schools refer families to Angel Tree directly and are responsible for delivering gift bundles to their families.
Q. What happens after I submit the referral form?

We crosscheck all referral names in a shared database with Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank, Shop of Wonders, and Salvation Army

If a family has signed up on our website, you will receive a confirmation email within 2 hours

If a family has already signed up to receive toys from Shop of Wonders or Salvation Army, we will contact you

Once your gift bundles are ready, we will call you for a delivery time or for pick up.
Q. Why do you have a shared database?
Christmas Hope is a 5-organization collaboration including: Lethbridge Food Bank, Interfaith Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Lethbridge Family Services Angel Tree and My City Care Shop of Wonders. Christmas Hope organizations share one database so all families in need at Christmas receive help, without duplication of services.

Q. Are you a registered charity that can issue a tax receipt?
Absolutely! A CRA-applicable tax receipt can be issued to donors if the monetary donation is valued over $20.00.
