Community Support Services Program
The Community Support Services Program (CSSP) provides information and referral services for temporary residents authorized by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada to legally work in Canada (except for Refugee Claimants) in order to address a variety of issues pertaining to the workplace, living in Canada, Immigration and Permanent Residence.
Am I eligible?All temporary residents legally authorized to work in Canada can access our services.
Where is the service provided?
All services can be accessed at our office located at 1107 2 Ave A North. Some program activities (presentations, information sessions etc.) may take place at other facilities/partner organizations.
How much will it cost?
Assistance offered is free-of-charge and any information collected is protected under Canadian privacy laws.
The CSSP is funded in full by the Government of Alberta

Program OutcomesClients of the Community Support Services Program have access to workshops and one-on-one sessions that provide up to date information required for workers to become more self sufficient, including:
- information about government regulations for foreign workers and workers’ rights;
- referral to the Temporary Foreign Workers Advisory Office;
- information on paths to permanent residence;
- information regarding work permit renewals, obtaining visa applications, taxes, Social Insurance numbers, Alberta Healthcare, accreditation of foreign training and much more.
