Domestic Violence Action Team in Lethbridge Hires a New Coordinator

Lethbridge. June 14, 2021

Lethbridge Family Services and Domestic Violence Action Team Committee would like to announce Lindsey Gehring, R.S.W, has accepted the position of Domestic Violence Action Team Coordinator. Lindsey brings years of experience from the Victim Services sector in which she supported survivors of family violence through education, advocacy and referrals. Furthermore, her education and knowledge of social work principles, ideologies and best practices will enhance the breadth of this community project initiatives.

Moving forward our community will witness Lindsey’s presence in enhancing awareness of issues regarding domestic violence and other related issues effecting the well-being of families and communities today. Lindsey will also be creating and strengthening educational campaigns, programs, trainings and workshops regarding issues such as bullying and stalking. As well as collaborating with local, rural and provincial stakeholders on committees and other advocacy initiatives.

“I am proud to be a citizen of this remarkable city and am honored to be supporting the community in its efforts to take action against Domestic Violence,” says Gehring.

Operating since 1995, the Lethbridge Domestic Violence Action Team (DVAT) is a collaborative effort of partnering agencies in Lethbridge for sharing information and addressing topical issues to ensure a consistent response to domestic violence in our community.

Including Partnering Agencies form the Criminal Justice, Mental Health, Crisis Support, Social Services and Policing Sectors.
